With both online and office sales channels, Reliant are a leading household electricals and technology retailer, based in the North-west.
Specialising in established brands including Samsung, LG, and Bosch, products include a broad selection of large and small appliances at highly competitive prices.
The site redesign engaged with both B2B & B2B audiences, resulting in a 141% increase in revenue, following a 17% increase in the average order total.

Feeling somewhat restricted and unable to refresh their existing site to provide the improved online shopping experience that they would have liked, Reliant required additional functionality to stand out from their competition. With their existing supplier only releasing features en-masse to all suppliers, the electrical retailer sought differentiation.
They embarked on a journey to reconnect with their customers. To do so, they needed to take full ownership of their site. With complete control, Reliant could build a sustainable platform with greater longevity, facilitating their growth and ensuring they reached their ambitious sales targets.

Our Magento website development team set about creating a focused customer-centric site, identifying new areas for sales growth.
Meeting with Reliant’s existing Enterprise Resource Planning system provider, nCompass, we uncovered the requirements for the custom-built functionality that would seamlessly connect to provide stress-free inventory management, back ordering and product offers. To ensure third-party application integration, it was crucial to pinpoint systems that no longer served a purpose, removing these from use.
Created using the Tailwind CSS framework to take advantage of the extensive customisation options and site responsiveness. As our Hyvä theme is based on this architecture, we could start with a lean, fast and super-efficient base for Reliant’s shiny new website.

A Faster, Secure Checkout.
As we love a challenge, we had just 8 weeks to build and launch the site ahead of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, critical revenue drivers for the business. Once delivered, our Magento maintenance and support developers continued to optimise the store’s custom checkout process, improving system integration, speed and performance using Hyvä themes, along with adding further trusted payment providers for greater consumer choice. We continue to meet with Reliant each month, using data-drive insight to maximise site conversions.

With the majority of us reaching for our smartphones to research products and/or make online purchases, ensuring that Reliant’s brand-new site was full responsive and optimised for mobile devices was vital. Using Hyvä’s mobile-first approach to enhance the mobile page load speed and improve performance, we created a user-friendly shopping experience that delivered a higher order value and boosted conversions, achieving significant overall business growth.
