Taking away today’s pain to focus on the future!
W.Howard has been at the forefront of producing and supplying the widest range of MDF profiles across Europe, from skirtings to architraves, window boards, wall panelling, door linings and bespoke products to suit the needs of each customer.
However, despite their reputation and high-quality offerings, they faced major challenges in their digital operations. Being static and inflexible, their old website could not keep up with the dynamic requirements of a modern business. Their inability to adapt hindered their ability to update content, effectively showcase their complete product lines, and provide the seamless user experience their customers anticipated.
Consequently, they realised they needed a digital overhaul to more closely align their online presence with their market-leading position.
The Problem.
The new website was intentionally built with a future-oriented mindset to set the organisation up for long-term growth goals. These initiatives focused on broadening their market penetration and improving their digital capabilities. One significant area of focus was to allow the direct selling of products online to builders’ merchants and specialist trade manufacturers, which was also a way to attract new business markets and increase overall sales volume.
To do so, we optimised the site to facilitate the purchasing process, making it faster and easier for a larger pool of customers. Its main purpose was to allow the diverse needs of this wider audience to be met, by making product discovery, order placement and payment easy, and enabling future scalability of the business as it grows and develops.
Our Solution
Our eCommerce specialists collaborated with the marketing department to ensure that the new UX and UI design matched the current hardcopy brochures, which they send to their suppliers and resales channels. From downloadable Brochures by category throughout their MDF profiles & panelling, to video tutorials, enhancing engagement and valuable, customer-centric content.
Thanks to Magento 2’s advanced capabilities, and clever design elements, page size was reduced, page load speed improved, and all relevant product details were easily accessible to their B2B customers.
The supply of the core products and future inventory management for W.Howard and due to the nature of the future pace, the platform being handed over to the team was more than capable of scaling efficiently with them, as they grow.
Empowering B2B Marketing with a Dynamic, User-Friendly Website Upgrade
The upgrade from a static website to a dynamic, content-managed platform was a key move to empower the client to take full control of their content and better support their B2B marketing efforts. Previously, updating the site required extensive involvement from developers, making it challenging to keep the content fresh and aligned with marketing initiatives.
With the new site built on the Hyvä frontend, the client now has the ability to easily manage and update their own content, providing a flexible, user-friendly experience that supports real-time adjustments.
Enhancing User Experience with Simplified Product Search and Easy Access to Information
We focused on making it easier for trade professionals and retailers to quickly find the right product, enhancing the overall user experience and simplifying the purchasing process. With a streamlined, intuitive product search and navigation system, users can now easily filter and locate the products they need based on specific criteria, such as specifications, categories, and product types.
In addition, we made essential product information, such as detailed data sheets and technical specifications, readily accessible with just a few clicks.
